This is where you can find a collection of a-b-s-o-l-u-t-e "MUST-HAVE's" - multi-tab browsers, spyware killer, protection and removal tools for when you're Surfing the Internet:
Ensure you have a good Anti-Virus Program, Firewall and Pop-up Blocker before you venture out on the net.
Check Your Internet/Browser Settings:
In your browser, under Tools, check your Internet Options (Advanced Tab) to ensure you don't have automatic installation of anything - example "Enable Install on Demand" plus "Enable Install on Demand (Other)" should be unchecked. Go down the list verifying your best options.
Then still in your Internet Options, under the Security tab - click "Custom Level". Under Downloads, Disable "Automatic prompting for file downloads" and Under Miscellaneous, "Installation of desktop items" select "prompt". Scroll down to "Scripting" and Disable "Allow paste operations via script. Check all for your requirements and accuracy.
You should also have reasonable knowledge of the programs on your system as they're listed in Control Panel under "Add/Remove Programs", to simplify removal of unwanted spyware and those that self-installed without your knowledge.
Check your msconfig file startup directory and uncheck any unwanted programs. If you don't know how to maintain your msconfig file, please do not mess around with it, get tech support!
Spyware killer, prevention and removal tools:
Remove Spyware from your system: Running the following programs on your system is a good thing. You cannot have too many tools that find and kill the spyware on your system! However only load ONE in Memory.... and Run them One at a Time.... please don't run the anti-virus programs all at the same time. We all know how intrusive some people have become with this ridiculous spyware loading the instant you click a link somewhere on the Internet. You'll find that some programs pick up what others don't and v.v. - install them ALL on your system then check for Updates and run them one after the other.
Before you switch off your computer, delete all cookies and Temporary Internet Files.
All downloads are guaranteed to be safe and free of any ads, spyware, trojans, malicious anything.
We highly recommend that you check your computer (free) for security and spyware at http://housecall65.trendmicro.com or http://onecare.live.com
After you have downloaded any Programs always check for the latest updates.
